Vinings has a rich history that ranges from Native American settlements to arrival of pioneers to the rise of railroads to the Civil War and to the modern growth of Cobb County. The Vision Plan promotes protection of these areas, through both the National Register of Historic Places as well as the Cobb County Register of Historic Places. The Pace House is listed on both of these registers. Education of the public about historic aspects and sites found in the community as well as preserving archaeological sites continues as objectives.

Encourage National Register and Cobb County Register listings of eligible buildings (ongoing).
Encourage archaeological surveys for new development and redevelopment.
Require preservation of archaeological resources during new development and/or redevelopment.
